Entering the Mushroom Kingdom

You already know what day it is (at least here in the United States), it's Mario Day, a day in which we celebrate our favorite brothers, Mario and Luigi.

We all love Mario, and some of us love Luigi (for you Luigi lovers, thank you, he needs the love), I'm gonna talk about Mario a lot for today. Starting with...

My Love for Mario

I assume that my love for Mario started when I was watching old Mario videos on YouTube as a small child (such as Bowser's Mushroom Factory, Mario & Luigi Go to the Park, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii in a Nutshell to name a few), I soon got a Nintendo 3DS with Super Mario 3D Land and a Wii with New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario, I was decent at 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. Wii (for the most part), but I didn't know what to do in Galaxy and Super Paper Mario. I lost my copy of 3D Land, but I ended up beating New Super Mario Bros. Wii last year (It was likely around June or July), and Galaxy around 2 months ago.

I remember getting the DVD of the dreadful 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie at Target because I thought "OH MY GOD THERE'S A MARIO MOVIE I NEED THIS", I also remember getting the Mario DiC cartoons at a Best Buy too, I still have those DVDs, by the way.

Classic Mario YouTube Videos

I'll try to document the Mario videos I remember watching as a kid. Just so you know, I did not watch Racist Mario as a kid.

Mario's Restaraunt (2010)

Still from 'Mario's Restaurant'

"You can go to Hell, Mario!"

Ah yes, pre-Friday Night Funkin' Newgrounds, a civilized community from a more civilized age.

This video is a certified hood classic in my book, it involves Luigi attempting to buy a burger from Mario's restaraunt (which only sells Italian food), after Mario points out that he doesn't sell burgers, Luigi responds by pulling out a shotgun and shooting his own brother, so much for brotherly love.

Mario & Luigi Go To The Park! (2010)

Still from "Mario & Luigi Go To The Park!"

"Hey Mario, did you bring any snacks?" "No." "BWAAHH!"

If you remember this video, you automatically gain my respect.

You might know this video from that "Bababooey *fart*" meme. In short, it's just, you guessed it, Mario and Luigi going to the park.

Angry Birds VS Mario (2011)

Still from "Angry Birds VS Mario"

The ultimate crossover.

I might have loved Mario as a kid, but I was OBSESSED with Angry Birds, so seeing this video was like seeing Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network collide.

It's literally Angry Birds in a Mario level, of course in traditional Angry Birds fashion, they have to destroy the bricks.

My Roommate Mario: Super Mario Wee (2010)

Still from "My Roommate Mario: Super Mario Wee"

"And that is why I always wear gloves!"

This is from the creator of Annoying Orange, I am not joking in the slightest.

Mario reveals why he always wears gloves, because he had to take a whiz (this predates the masterpiece that is "Mario Pissing" by the way), and there wasn't a sink anywhere for him to wash his hands.

Mario Farts! (2010)

Still from "Mario Farts!"

"Oh no! Don't-a put the fire on the fart-a!"

This is from Vsauce. I consider it to be Michael's best work.

Basically, Mario eats a bad mushroom that makes him very gassy, he should have brought some Beano with him.

The one forgotten

This is the video I can't seem to find, but I DEFINITELY REMEMBER watching.

This video had two kids take the role of Mario and Luigi, their mother as Peach (who makes them cookies, pretty similar to the cake in Mario 64), and their father as Bowser, who I DISTINCTLY remember having a Yoda mask on the back of his head and maybe Hulk gloves on, I don't know, it's been a long time since I've watched this. If you manage to find the video, please contact me as soon as possible through my Discord (@Nova96#2686).

UPDATE

I have found the video, and it's title is...

Mario and Luigi: To the Rescue! (2010)

Original

with Bloopers

"Not fireballs, no! I'm outta here!"

Everything I called about this video was apparently spot-on.

In conclusion.

The Mario franchise has given me some fond memories, whether it be beating the original game after a dentist appointment, first playing Super Smash Bros. 64 as Mario, or just watching the aforementioned videos. I hope your Mario Day is as good as mine will hopefully be.
